ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION

1.Academic QualificationGood academic record with a Master’s degree (55% marks or equivalent grade) in the concerned/relevant/ allied subject from an Indian University or an equivalent accredited foreign university.
2.Knowledge of Hindi/SanskritMust have knowledge of Hindi/Sanskrit up to the Matriculation standard or in Higher Education.
3.National Eligibility Test (NET) / Equivalent ExemptionA. Candidates who have qualified the NET conducted by UGC/CSIR, or a similar accredited test like SLET/SET, or those awarded a Ph.D. degree (as per UGC regulations) are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
4.Ph.D. ExemptionCandidates registered for the Ph.D. program prior to July 11, 2009, will be exempted from NET/SLET/SET, provided they meet certain conditions:
  • Ph.D. awarded in regular mode
  • Thesis evaluated by at least two external examiners
  • Open Ph.D viva conducted
  • Two research papers published from Ph.D work (one in a referred journal)
  • At least two conference/seminar presentations based on Ph.D work |
    | 5. | Foreign Ph.D. Exemption | B. Ph.D. obtained from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 in the World University Rankings (by QS, THE, or ARWU) is exempt from NET/SLET/SET. |

Important Notes:

  • NET/SLET/SET is not required for Master’s programs in disciplines where NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by UGC or similar bodies.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION FOR ASSISTANT PROFESSORS IN FINE ARTS

1.Academic QualificationGood academic record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade of B (7-point scale) in Fine Arts at the Master’s Degree level from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a foreign university.
2.Knowledge of Hindi/SanskritMust have knowledge of Hindi/Sanskrit up to Matriculation standard or in Higher Education.
3.National Eligibility Test (NET) / Equivalent ExemptionA. Candidates who have qualified NET (UGC/CSIR) or similar accredited tests like SLET/SET, or those awarded a Ph.D. degree (as per UGC regulations) are exempt from NET/SLET/SET.
4.Ph.D. ExemptionCandidates registered for Ph.D. before July 11, 2009, will be exempted from NET/SLET/SET, provided they meet these conditions:
  • Ph.D. awarded in regular mode
  • Thesis evaluated by at least two external examiners
  • Open Ph.D viva conducted
  • Two research papers published from Ph.D work (one in a referred journal)

    | 6. | Diploma Equivalent to Master’s Degree | For Fine Arts, a Five-Year Diploma from a recognized university/institution is equivalent to a Master’s degree. In such cases, academic performance in Matric and Diploma examinations will be considered. |

  • NET/SLET/SET is not required for Master’s programs in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted by UGC or similar bodies.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION FOR ASSISTANT PROFESSORS IN MASS COMMUNICATION

1.Academic QualificationGood academic record with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) at the Master’s degree level in Mass Communication, Journalism, or Communication from an Indian or foreign university/institution.
2.Desirable QualificationPh.D. in Mass Communication/ Journalism/ Communication from an Indian or foreign university.
  • Two years full-time teaching/research experience in Mass Communication (including work in newspapers accredited with ABC, National News Agencies, Radio/TV, Film Media, Advertising agencies, PR officers in government/public sector, or industrial/commercial houses). |
    | 3. | Knowledge of Hindi/Sanskrit | Must have knowledge of Hindi/Sanskrit up to Matriculation standard or in Higher Education. |
    | 4. | National Eligibility Test (NET) / Equivalent Exemption | A. Candidates who have qualified NET (UGC/CSIR) or a similar test like SLET/SET, or those awarded a Ph.D. degree (as per UGC regulations) are exempt from NET/SLET/SET. |

Age Limit

Candidate should not be less than 21 years and not more than
42years, as on before the 15 days ofthe month next preceding the last date of
submission of application to the Commission i.e. 15.07.2024.
However, the age relaxation of 5 years beyond the upper age limit already
prescribed is granted to the candidates of all c,ategories for these posts to be
filled by direct recruitment and to be advertised in the calendar yeat 2024 as a
one-time measure due to various reasons, provided the upper age limit shall
not exceed 52 years for the candidates who eLre already entitled to get the
benefit ofage relaxation in one or more categories

    | 10. | Shortlisting for Next Stage | Candidates securing a minimum of 25% in the Screening Test will be called for the subject knowledge test. |

  • The number of candidates to be called for the interview will be two times the number of advertised posts (including bracketed candidates, if any). |
    | 5. | Weightage of Subject Knowledge Test | 87.5% of the final score |
    | 6. | Weightage of Interview | 12.5% of the final score |
    | 7. | Final Merit List | The final merit list will be prepared by adding the marks of the Subject Knowledge Test and Interview/Viva-Voce. |
    | 8. | Syllabus | The subject-wise syllabus will be uploaded separately on the HPSC website. |
    | 9. | Skill Test | For Music, Physical Education, and Fine Arts posts, a Skill Test will be held first. Only those who qualify the Skill Test will be allowed to participate in the next stage of the recruitment process. |
