The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) invites online applications for the recruitment of 14 posts of Senior Scientific Officer (SSO) in various divisions under the Rajasthan Forensic Science Service Rules, 1979. Interested candidates can apply online.
M.Sc. with at least 2nd Division in Zoology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or Genetics.
Or, M.Sc. with 2nd Division in Forensic Science with specialization in Forensic Biology/Serology (minimum six-month specialization).
Zoology, Botany, or Forensic Biological Science must be a subject in Bachelor’s degree.
Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Computer Science/Applications or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum two years in State/Central Government FSL or similar.
Senior Scientific Officer (Documents Division):
M.Sc. with at least 2nd Division in Physics or Chemistry.
Or, M.Sc. with 2nd Division in Forensic Science with specialization in Forensic Documents (minimum six-month specialization).
Physics, Chemistry, or Forensic Chemistry must be a subject in Bachelor’s degree.
Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Computer Science/Applications or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum two years in State/Central Government FSL or similar.
Senior Scientific Officer (Toxicology Division):
M.Sc. with at least 2nd Division in Chemistry.
Or, M.Tech/M.E. in Chemical Engineering.
Or, M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in Forensic Chemistry/Toxicology/Narcotics (minimum six-month specialization).
Chemistry or Forensic Chemistry must be a subject in Bachelor’s degree.
Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Computer Science/Applications or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum two years in State/Central Government FSL or similar.
Senior Scientific Officer (Physics Division):
M.Sc. with at least 2nd Division in Physics.
Or, M.Tech/M.E. in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
Or, M.Sc. in Forensic Science with specialization in Forensic Physics (minimum six-month specialization).
Physics or Physical Science must be a subject in Bachelor’s degree.
Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Computer Science/Applications or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum two years in State/Central Government FSL or similar.
Common Requirement for All Posts:
Working knowledge of Hindi written in Devanagari script.
Knowledge of Rajasthan culture.
Age Limit
General Criteria:
Minimum age: 21 years.
Maximum age: 40 years (as of 01.01.2026).
Age Relaxation:
SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS Male of Rajasthan: 5 years.
SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS Female of Rajasthan: 10 years.
General Female: 5 years.
Widows and Divorced Women: No upper age limit.
Ex-servicemen: Additional age relaxation as per rules.
Additional Relaxation:
For posts previously advertised in 2018 and 2021, candidates who crossed the upper age limit by 01.01.2026 are eligible for an additional 3 years relaxation.
Other Notes:
Candidates appearing in the final year of the required qualification are eligible to apply, but proof of qualification must be submitted before the examination.
Experience must be gained after obtaining the educational qualification.
